Exposing myths about grey hair

Pulling grey is a huge no-no, but not for the reasons you may think. A hairstylist explains why you should keep the grey in your hair. Grey hair is simply part of life for most of us. And although an increasing number of us accept a natural appearance as we age, some of us still cringe at the sight of an occasional grey strand tucked into a strand. Pulling any grey hairs as soon as you notice them may be tempting, but this is precisely the wrong thing you should be doing.

But that isn’t for the reasons you may think; Contrary to popular belief, pulling one grey hair does not cause three others to sprout on top of it. You might be making things worse for yourself if you do, according to stylist Jennifer Corab. She explained that pulling the hair could damage your hair follicles, potentially leading to infections and even patches of baldness.

Hairstylist Michael Van Clarke explained: Grey hair is simply part of life, and the amount of it you have is irrelevant whether or not you plucked it.
